Proof of Employment for Canadian Immigration Purposes

To be successful for either LMIA or LMIA exempt Work Permit application as well as any Canadian Economic Immigration program, you need to demonstrate some work experience. Our firm collects this evidence during the Work Permit application process and makes subsequent Permanent Residency applications easier.

You can prove work experience by collecting Job Reference letters (Employment Confirmation letters) from current and previous employers, Employment Contracts, Paystubs, and even statements from previous supervisors or co-workers.

  1. It needs to be on the company’s letterhead
  2. It needs to contain the employee’s full name and last name (middle name if applicable) as per the passport
  3. The job title with the job status (if current job)
  4. Dates of employment
  5. A detailed list of duties/responsibilities
  6. Number of working hours per week
  7. Income: annual salary or an hourly rate of pay, any bonuses or benefits (volunteering will not be counted as an experience)
